Tea for a Bird

As I begin this Tea Blogging, I recall from deep in my past an encounter with a beautiful bird… one that proved PROFOUNDLY impactivating on my tea life!

The year? 2002.  The place? Work. The skinny? Me.

I took lunch then, in the cafeteria. Every now and then the most beautiful bird you ever did see would take lunch with me. Now, she had no interest in me, which gave our banter that much more wit and verve.  Wit and verve serve at your beck and call when you ask nothing of them!

Anyway, there’s no reason to carry on about my past failures and missed chances. I’m here to talk TEA.

I’d just begun my lifelong Tea Journey a few years previous… and now I was really starting to ramp it up. Back at the house I had multiple pots… and a thermos for tossing in a few pu-erh tuochas for a good day’s healthy liquer. Yet for convenience in the company café I’d taken to using teabags.

Organic ones, mind.  And green, as the water in the company hot-water dispenser wasn’t quite a-boil.

The beautiful bird my friend took an interest one day in my tea.

Fortuity! Perhaps now our shared taste for delicious baggery could lead to Greater Things

I proffered unto her a single organic bag steeping in a cup, for just the rigth time…

…and did sip mine own as I awaited her response…

…she took the teacup up and tasted its green liquer…

“Mmmm!” Such words as escaped her lips!

Could it be? We were– DESTINED TO TEA TOGETHER?!?

“It tastes like dirt! Enjoy your dirt water.”
