Lapsang Souchong

Lapsang Souchong brings you to the ancient Silk Road in every cup

Lapsang Souchong makes a smoky cup

Carried by caravan across the vast expanse, this classic tea once gained its smoky flavor from the fires traders burned to stay warm.

Though no longer delivered by camel, it stills has its great taste!

A true specialty tea, Lapsang Souchong is a smoked tea. Its gives off woody, fiery notes. And you can use it to give a smoky flavor to barbeque… though I’ll have to get the recipe from my brother.

This Lapsang Souchong gets its flavor from pine needles

Some tea brands cut corners and use “smoke” some guy made in a test tube in a New Jersey lab. Screw that!  Like the lumberjack cousin of Earl Grey and other flavored teas, this Lapsang Souchong tea gets its flavor when smoked over actual pine needles.

Pine needles! How’s that for a unique black tea~

When brewing this loose leaf tea, use an infuser so the leaves can open in the tea pot. Brew it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Remember, this is one of the teas blended in Russian Caravan tea. No need to be precious! Its loose leaves will open in your tea pot to impart an outdoorsy flavor with a clean finish.
